Selecting the right dog
The sex of a Siberian is not as important as its personality.

Many males are sweet, even-tempered, and easy to train and to handle. Some females are full of mischief and energy. An ultra-smart female can run circles around her cheerful, perhaps not so demanding brother. Do not make your decision based solely on the sex of a puppy.

Bitches, however require a lot more work as they get older and start their seasons. They will bleed usually at 6 monthly intervals, and during this tims (it lasts about 3 weeks) must be kept firmly away from any other male dogs to stop her from mating. Its usually a very stressful time for both dog and owner.

Dogs, although not requiring as much work as a bitch in season, do tend to cause trouble with "territory marking". Not something that you want to happen regularly if he is kept in the house. An early bout of puppy training should stop this behaviour in its tracks.

Dog or bitch ? Black or Red ? Its not something to be decided on a whim and at the end of the day the pups personality will be far more an important aspect than its looks. Do not decide on a puppy purely for its eye colour either. Although some blue-eyed pups do look so adorable, a good breeder will look disparingly at you if the eye colour becomes a deciding factor in your choice of puppy.
