Make sure you have insurance

Insurance is very important. When you take a puppy from its breeder, ensure you get at least six weeks free insurance. This should be no problem for KC registered pups as the Kennel Club provides this. You may have to tick a box on the back of the Registration Certificate to start the policy or the breeder may even make a phone call before you even leave their premises.

No matter what age, your Siberian Husky is, the importance of insurance cannot be stressed enough. Most policies will cover you for death, loss, but more importantly vets bills. If your dog develops an ongoing problem the cost of veterinary treatment can quickly escalate into thousands of pounds. This can quite easily be covered with one of the many insurance policies available for as little as £8 or £9 per month depending on the area you live in.

There are many different insurance policies with lots of differing amounts of cover. Depending on your budget, it is usaully best to go for the highest cover you can afford, something with at least a few thousand pounds cover for vets bills.

The Kennel Clubs insurance is by far one of the best available and you shoudl already have received the first 6 weeks free if you have a KC registered pup. There are many other companies including Marks & Spencer, Tesco and Petplan.
