Equipment

If you are thinking of working your Siberian, you will need essential equipment to get you started.

Firstly you will need some sort of sled (if on snow) or a rig (if on dryland)

Another form of transport is the two wheeled scooter.

Hooking the dogs to the sled or rig will require strong ropes, or lines. Ganglines attach to the dogs harness and onto a carabiner at the sled/rig/scooter. You will also need a shock line or bungee. This is a stretchy piece of rubber that connect to the carabiner and then to the gangline about a foot away. When the dogs begin to run this bungee will take some of the shock away from the dogs, allowing them to run forward without a sudden jerk.

X-back harnesses need to be specially measured to create a perfect fit for the dogs, so as not to cause any rubbing once the dog starts to run. These harnesses can be usually bought in many different colours and sizes.
