Huskies love the heat

They will lie in front of the fire on winter evenings and out in the sun in the summer, so it is up to you to regulate their heat intake and to ensure that they do not get sunburnt. White dogs in particular are vulnerable to sunburn as their skin has little pigment to protect itself. The most vulnerable areas are the ears and if you look at white-coated ears in the sunshine you will see the sun shining through them, damaging the skin and potential to cause skin cancer.

Using sun block on the dog's ears is well worthwhile if applied every couple of days, and encourage your dogs to come into the shade if hey have been lying out for too long. Make sure you provide sufficient shade in the garden or run and check at all times of day.
