Chewing of feet and wrists is a common habit in Siberians.

They are a dog that are particularly conscious of their feet and do not generally like their feet being handled. However, some of them will sit for hours licking or chewing the top of their front paws. This is not something to worry about. Bitches will do this in particular if they have a false pregnancy.

Chewing often results in very short fur on top of the knuckles and wrist but does not cause any harm, so should be ignored. There appears to be a certain hereditary element to this behaviour since it is often noted in offspring which have moved on to other homes and therfore could not have learnt it by copying.
